How It All Began

Kaii’s journey started not in a classroom, but on a catamaran, surrounded by turquoise waters and turtles.

“I used to take people snorkeling,” she recalls. “But I noticed something, so many people were afraid. Even locals.”

What stood out most was her natural ability to make others feel comfortable. Her calm encouragement helped countless passengers overcome their fear and enjoy the ocean.

Soon, people began asking: “Do you teach swimming?”

That’s when Kaii realised she’d found her calling, and a clear gap to fill. The seed for Sunseeker Swim School was planted.

Turning Passion into Purpose

Starting her swim school wasn’t just a business move, it was a leap of faith.

“At first, I was so pumped. I just wanted to get started because I really believed in what I was doing,” she says.

But as her business grew, reality set in. Running a company came with challenges she hadn’t anticipated, especially the feeling many new entrepreneurs know too well: imposter syndrome.

“I started to feel like, ‘Who am I to be doing this?’ But once you begin to see your vision come to life, it gives you the strength to keep going.”

The Vision: Beyond the Pool

For Kaii, teaching swimming is just the beginning.

Her next goal? Helping people go beyond the pool—to discover the ocean’s full potential through experiences like surfing, kayaking, and diving.

“Once people are confident in the water, so many doors open,” she explains. “Swimming can unlock opportunities, adventures, and even careers. I just want more people to have access to those.”

A Message to Dreamers

Kaii’s story is proof that your passion can become your purpose. She reminds aspiring entrepreneurs and swimmers alike that growth takes patience, courage, and belief in yourself.

“Don’t expect everything to work perfectly right away. With time, your vision gets clearer and stronger. If I can do it, you can do it.”
